hopi blue casualties

the twin ear in the top photo probably isn't unprecedented, but it was something of a surprise...for the rest i found pretty much what i expected...unfinished ears of hopi blue maize...all but the earliest plants still have a ways to go until the maize is mature enough to pick...i will hang these up to dry with the mature ear from the community garden in hopes of viable seed for next season ( actually half of the plants in the community garden germinated form seed i saved from last year's crop...i haven't picked any of the ears they have produced yet and i am curious and a bit anticipatory about what i may find...hopefully fully formed ears )...always interested in producing another generation form saved seed.
