garlic potatoes

with the big move this year more attention has been paid to logistics and construction rather than actual gardening...but the 2014 season did start last saturday when we moved some of the garlic from the old garden and planted some potatoes...we were concerned about how well the garlic would take the root disturbance, but four days later that concern seems to be being put to rest...all six transplants look robust and have grown some since my last visit on sunday...there was snow here yesterday and temperatures in the mid-twenties ( fahrenheit ) overnight and the russet and ollala potatoes are looking a touch frostbitten...no worries...cold hardy varieties they will both recover...we will wait until next month to plant yukon golds...this might have done them in...lots to do yet...more as it crops up.
