new movement

the jerusalem artichokes in the community garden are in high gear and blooming away ( top two photos 0 but tucked underneath the thick foliage was a potato plant that had died back ( third photo ) so i pooed up the root ball and it did not look promising...how ever by digging around a bit i managed to find a reasonable spud production even though it was partially shaded by the sunchokes...roaming around i found the first ripe tomato i have seen there this season...probably because someone else hadn't sen it first...finally happy asparagus plants are continuing to throw out new spears to "fern" and feed the growing root system...they will need to go a bit longer...around three years...be fore they reach full production and can be harvested...gardening teaches patience...a good deal of humility too.
