relentless

the ever relentless jerusalem artichokes had thoroughly colonized my bed in the garden and, since i sense a time for change, i am planning on moving in a different direction i set about to cull the herd...a simple process involving a shovel and some rooting around in the soil...about twenty minutes of work netted me and impressive pile of sprouted tubers...some of which will find homes ( there will be a few containerized ones in my yard...that population is being seriously cut back as well ) and some of which will find the compost bin...anyone who would like some should contact me now...i left a few in the bed...they are native perennials after all and i didn't want to have a population of zero...they may look a bit battered at the moment...not to worry...they will be ten feet tall soon enough.
