new year...new home.

this mashua plant has evinced such robust growth...
that its roots have outgrown the peat pot...
so i took a five gallon bucket which i had grown spuds in outside last season and filled it with a mix of compost and potting soil...
and gave it a much larger home out of the nursery light and in the plant room...
the rest of the mashua brood remains under the light on the nursery table...
along with some spuds which are also showing signs of needing a transplant soon...the lights in the plant room are going to be crowded...
in other basement news, there are now seven teosinte plants in varying stages of flowering ( this one is the most advanced )...as yet i ahven't sen any real sign of silks...waiting is part of gardening...patience is a virtue...still...the new year starts with progress all around...few losses so far...hoping that trend continues.
